چکیده

This research provides a design for complaint constant-force mechanism employing leaf-spring-like beam with variable stiffness to address the negative stroke underutilization issue of bistable beam. By designing compression at each given displacement and ramp slope, this technique allows constant force potentially take full utilization beam's component. Innovative based on positive is shown in study. In addition, we conduct simulation analysis experimental verification. The results illustrate feasibility effectiveness proposed method.

Constant Force Feedback Controller Design Using PID-Like Fuzzy Technique for Tapping Mode Atomic Force Microscopes

A novel constant force feedback mechanism based on fuzzy logic for tapping mode Atomic Force Microscopes (AFM) is proposed in this paper. A mathematical model for characterizing the cantilever-sample interaction subsystem which is nonlinear and contains large uncertainty is first developed. Then, a PID-like fuzzy controller, combing a PD-like fuzzy controller and a PI controller, is designed to...

Design, development and scaling analysis of a variable stiffness magnetic torsion spring

In this paper we report on the design, modeling, experimental testing and scaling analysis of a novel MAgnetic Variable stiffnEess spRIng-Clutch (MAVERIC) device, which may be used as the elastic element of Variable Stiffness Actuators (VSAs). The device, comprising two co-axial diametrically magnetized hollow cylinders, has two degrees of freedom: a rotation of the two cylinders around the com...

Optimal design of nonlinear springs in robot mechanism: simultaneous design of trajectory and spring force profiles

In this paper, we aim at minimizing the actuator torques of robots working on production lines by adding to the mechanism dynamic equilibrators based on nonlinear springs, that work in parallel with the joints. We propose a method to simultaneously optimize the trajectory of the robot and the force profiles of the nonlinear springs to minimize the actuator torques. First, we express the traject...

Variable-Leg-Spring Hopping with Velocity-Dependent Stiffness

Even though biological legs operate amazingly springlike, they clearly deviate from a perfect spring. For instance, experimental data of human hopping and running suggest an increase in leg length and a decrease in leg stiffness between touchdown and takeoff. Here, this variability of human gait is considered as a fundamental system property and introduced via non-constant leg parameters to a 1...

Design of Variable Damping and Stiffness Matrices

amping and stiffness control in a telerobotic system allows the programmer to define the master and slave dynamics to suit a given task. Unfortunately, many requirements for good teleoperation produce conflicting choices of desired dynamic parameters for different tasks. It is proposed here that the master and slave damping and stiffness matrices be functionally dependent on b e n d and command...
